The symmetries to be found in nature go beyond the typical leaf-and-flower designs. This series of laser-cut bamboo jewelry is inspired by radial symmetries found by slicing various types of fruits and vegetables.  This piece may look like an abstract organic shape at first, but it's actually derived from a sliced fruit (vegetable?).  If you don't see it immediately, you might not be the from Louisiana where this vegetable lent its name to a popular dish.  It's one of those veggies you either love or hate.  That's right... it's okra, also known as gumbo!

Each slice is approximately 1" wide.  They are laser cut from bamboo and hang on a 16" sterling silver chain with a lobster clasp.  Bamboo is treated with natural oil.
